I have to wonder..why did CK outsource their Collection line to Italian licensees? Perhaps they were trying to be cost effective...but after falling through two licensees, they've totally missed out on the mass luxury boom in the 2000's and now have to reposition themselves during a recession, talk about bad luck! Theoretically, it's good to think local first, however, if local designers can't produce high quality clothing, have a good marketing strategy, it would be difficult to survive in this really competitive field.
