A Luxury Blog With An Honest View
Discovering a new blog and going back obsessively to read their articles on the first day is a surefire indication that there’s something special. Indeed, since burying my nose in these luxury books (which I will discuss in another post), I have per chance stumbled upon a luxury blog called “The Luxe Chronicles” by a woman named Helene, a globetrotter who has lived in Montreal, New York, Paris, and recently London.
Her posts are a godsend. It’s like reading additional annexes of the riveting books on luxury, and her blog offers an honest and critical view of the luxury industry.
Although I personally cannot afford the so-called “luxury” of expensive clothing, five-star hotels and wines, I do find that world to be rather fascinating especially when it goes beyond the marketing and advertising facade. My luxuries are in the simple things, like enjoying rolling around in my comforter and spend an afternoon lying in bed reading. That’s the reality of my duality, a fond love for both the finer things and the simple things in life.
The Luxe Chronicles are of the finer, yet readily accessible, things in the blogosphere.
P.S. I love her writing style, I only wish that later on my writing can be as refined!

BTW – Visited my best kept secret (aka TNT Hazelton Lanes warehouse location – don’t tell anyone!) (Will feature on my blog all the amazing loot I got on mega sale in the days to come.) At any rate, I was speaking with the manager who happens to be the one who’s going to open the new store in Westmount. He told me that, as a result of his impending departure, the warehouse is going to close. Part of me panicked, the other part figures they’ve got to find some way of moving all the previously ridculously expensive merchandise from their regular stores, so it’s bound to reopen, even if it closes for a while.
He’s so excited about the new store. I’m so jealous he’s up and moving to such a great town.
Not sure if you are familiar with Hazelton Lanes (in Yorkville area of central TO). It’s stupid chichi and, as such, it’s kind of unusual to find such a discount experience in one of the ritziest malls around. The warehouse manager mentioned to me, as I was paying for my stuff, that all the women go from the regular location – a few doors away – where they buy thousands of dollars worth of stuff, to the warehouse, without even considering the cost differential. It’s like the money is entirely irrelevant! I appear to be one of the few professional people (and by this I mean a working girls) who frequents the place for high-end on a budget. Go figure… If they open a discount in Mtl, you must tell me!
